Patrick is a Ph.D. student in the Ocean Sciences department. He studies the physical and ecological drivers of variability in phytoplankton abundance and community structure. Before starting at UCSC, Patrick worked at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute for the CeNCOOS program as an oceanographic data manager. Prior to that, he was a research technician at Stanford University in the Gilly Lab.
